St. Patrick's Day Parade: Saturday, March 7th
Your Westie wants to know, "We are Going, RIGHT?"
Westie Rescue MidAtlantic Region and over 100 Westies will be marching in the Ballyshaners St. Patrick's Parade through the streets of Alexandria, VA on Saturday March 7, 2026.
All Westies are here by instructed to inform their owners to get some greenery outfits: collars, dresses, jackets, and even some fancy duds and be ready to assemble in old town Alexandria at a new location for the parade.
Westies will assemble their owners at the Staging Area at 11 am.
Location: Safeway - Royal and Wilks Streets (same location as the Scottish Christmas Walk)
Normal parade rules apply: No items to be tossed into the crowds, so pick up after your dog. Also, no biting or fighting with the crowds of children along the parade route allowed. Really bad form!!!
Wagons for geezers allowed. No Flexi Leads, PLEASE.
The first 100 Westies arriving will receive a FREE St Patrick's Day bandana. Got to look good for the crowds and the TV crews
Westies, tell your friends to come with their humans as a large turnout is always welcomed.

My little girl Bella Jo is. Sitting by my side in our favorite rocking chair! It’s sitting right where we can see outside. She is still a baby girl & learning a lot. I have had 4 Westie’s including a Scottish Terrier. As you might have guessed—- I love my little dogs. Our last Westie was 17 when she passed away. I still cry when I think of her! She was my little girl for 17 years. It’s hard to lose them. Here’s to Westie babies! They are the best!!!
