Appreciate your efforts. Wife and I have raised 5 westies over 35 years. We now have an 8 y.o. Weare both 80 years young. We would love to have a grown female to be company for our male. But we feel like we are too old for a puppy. Our hearts tell us a baby but common sense tells us different. Thank you for your work.
I'm about to rescue a 5-month-old Westie. I had one for 15 years who passed in '23. I'd like a recommendation for a good food brand.

Westie Rescue recommends two brands that are available at most PetSmart and Petco locations due to their contents are always controlled.
Nutro’s – Lamb and Brown Rice Puppy size dry kibble (until they are 12-14 months old due to higher protein levels)
Natural Balance - Lamb and Brown Rice Puppy size dry kibble (until they are 12-14 months old due to higher protein levels)
After they reach the terrible twos which kick in around 12 to 14 months, switch over to SMALL DOG Adult sized dry.
The trick on these little ones is multiple meals every day 6am, 6 pm plus a mid-day and bed time snack. 1 cup am and pm with a small handful in between. You can zip lock and freeze these products and use as treats instead of the trash treats. NO RAWHIDES!
At any time, if the Westie is a picky eater, add a little wet version of the same brand and product type.
