Winston Reporting in from the Home Front – April 2023

Wilson, who found his butt in a North Carolina shelter due to an incident that he claims innocence and was railroaded into the charges, reports that his new home is the best one a Westie could have. Last week he typed out a letter to let everyone know how he is doing…

Dear Uncle Stephen & Aunt Diane,

Greetings from Durham, NC. This is Winston checking in to let you know I am following all the Rules for Adopted Westies (Editor's note: 1. Suck up to your humans, 2. Don't screw up a good thing, 3. When in doubt see rules 1 & 2 for a long life), except I bark because I have separations issues, but we are all working on it. My mom and dad are being real patient with me and understand I went through a rough time.

After arriving in Durham and getting a much needed spa day treatment, it was off to the Vet to make sure I was healthy. The Doc says I am great shape, but Dr Elise said my teeth needed some attention so it was off slumber land. When I woke up my tongue hurt and I was missing 9 teeth. I feel much better now and I can chew my food, thanks goodness.

I put my teeth under my bed and in the morning the tooth fairy had brought me a new collar and a package of tennis balls that squeak! Did you know my favorite game is playing fetch? How did they know?!! I've put the squirrels on notice since I am now feeling much better. I told the tooth fairy to share that extra $ she was going to give me so I can help some of my Westie cousins that may be searching for their forever homes or need some extra Vet care. I have everything I need (and more) and I am very happy in my new home.

Bless you both for all you do to help us and being a voice for Westies who need a second chance at a great new life like mine!

Sincerely,
Winston – adopted March 2023

Winston has a strong opinions on music too

Such a whimsical story, Winston! Love stories with a happy ending.

Welcome home and hope that no more teeth are lost – even though the tooth fairy did a mighty fine job.
