Westie Rescue USA remembers all the Westies who have left us way to early.
Each week Westie Rescue receives that sad message that one of the Westies we have placed has gone to the Rainbow Bridge to wait for us to join them among the clouds. They leave behind a hole in our lives that can never be filled. However, over the passage of time another Westie comes along that has our name written all over them.
We have been finding those best buddies in waiting for the past 33 years to fill in that unused dog bed, spot on the couch and that special lookout spot to keep a watch on their domain free of squirrels, the postman/UPS guy/ and the Amazon delivery team.
My own best buddy, Fergus, passed away last year after giving me 17 years of companionship on long road trips to pickup or drop off Westies seeking a second chance at a new life. He allowed those Westies to be held and cooed over while they stayed in foster care. He was the Westie Rescue ambassador at Scottish Festivals for 16+ years and fastest squirrel tail chaser all over the yard. He will be missed as will all Westies who leave our arms way too soon. We wipe away a tear at their memories....
Westie Rescue also salutes all K9 Dogs who have given their youth and lives to protect police, military, and special forces all over the world. Paw Salute!
