The Rainbow bridge was busy last month...

The Rainbow bridge was very busy last month as a very special Westie Rescue volunteer entered. The noise of the hundreds and hundreds of Westies could be heard across the clouds as Susan Reeves entered the bridge area. They all heard that one special person who had helped many of them find those great new homes all over California and the Western States, had finally come to see them once again. All had been made well, happy, and excited to meet Susan again to tell their stories of their past life with their families.

Many of them had arrived years ago as Susan has run, directed, and managed Westie Rescue California for over 35 years, during that time she has rescued, rehabilitated, and rehomed over 2,700 Westies helped by many many human volunteers. Together they all did pick ups, rehabilitation processes, rehoming trips, Christmas parades, St Patrick parades, Westie Walks, provided Westies for movie cameos, and had time for their own Westies, who as we all know are not very good at waiting for attention.

Susan has been a great mentor, Westie Health expert on skin care issues, behavior training, and general Westie Knowledge go to person. The many many people she has provided positive inputs in dealing with the Westie owner world is truly amazing. Her Impact will be felt for years to come. She too leaves behind a large hole in the fabric of life especially in Westies.

From all of us involved in Westie Rescue we say "God speed and may all the Westies you helped push, rush and or dig your way into heaven", as anyone so dedicated to helping these helpless ones, deserves a good rest among the clouds with a few wet noses by your side.

You will be missed by many of us still here striving to help keep the flame you ignited many many years ago, burning as a guide to Westies seeking that next great second chance at life.
