2024 Westie Christmas Walk Parade Dec 7th

Westie Rescue will be marching in the 53rd Annual Scottish Christmas Walk-Parade in Old Town Alexandria, VA. Over 200 Westies, dressed in their kilts and coats, are expected to help make 2024 a great show. Westies and their owners are encouraged to wear Christmas or Scottish finery. Rain, Shine, or Snow!

All Westies will meet up at the Safeway 500 South Royal St Alexandria, VA 9:30AM.

At 10:00AM, we will move to our assigned parade spot. Street parking goes fast so arrive early!

We will be welcoming Westies from all over as Westie Rescue has placed over 1,400 Westies in the past 33 years. Many Westies who have recently been placed, will be there to show us how well they have sucked up to their new owners and have gotten healthy and happy together! Westie from puppies to seniors will be there. Will YOU?

Rules & Instructions

• Come early as street parking gets tight after 9 am
• We will move to our assigned spot in the parade at 10 AM
• Dress up your dog in Scottish or Christmas attire. (RED is a good color)
• Dogs MUST be up to date on Rabies and other standard vaccinations.
• NO Flexi Leads. Regular leads only
• Dogs and Humans - the entire parade route is 1-mile.
• All dogs should be people friendly as there will be lots of people lining the street.
• No candy, gum, or any other handouts allowed
• Check the weather and dress accordingly
• There will be a sign in sheet required this year
• There will be a geezer wagon for those too old to walk (Holds 4 westies max)
