Scottish Christmas Walk Parade
Old Town Alexandria, VA
Come join in the fun as Westies of all ages strut down the streets of Olde Towne Alexandria in the 53rd Scottish Christmas Walk Parade. Over 200 Westies, dressed in their kilts, holiday sweaters, and bells and bows, are expected gather this year to help make this Parade a wonderful family event. There will be other Scottish dog breeds as well as bagpipe bands. Westies and their owners (staff) are encouraged to wear Christmas or Scottish finery. (Kilts, bows, jackets, etc.)
All Westies will meet up at the Safeway, 500 South Royal St Alexandria at 9:30 am. At 10:00 am, we will move to our assigned parade spot. Street parking goes fast. So, arrive early!
This year marks our 29th year participating in this annual march. At the event you will meet Westies from all over at the Parade as Westie Rescue has placed over 1,300 dogs in the past years. Westies who have been adopted recently will be there to show us how well they have snowed their new owners and, as a result, gotten fat and happy on treats! Westie Rescue has had an exceptionally busy year in 2023 placing over 70+ Westies, especially those who needed special care before they were ready for that new home. Thanks to one and all who opened your arms and hearts to these little ones.
