North Atlantic Westie Rescue, Inc., (NAWR) is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt not-for-profit organization incorporated in Massachusetts. North Atlantic Westie Rescue’s mission is to find, rehabilitate, and place homeless West Highland White Terriers in permanent homes where they can be the best dog they can be. None of its volunteers receive a salary for their work, often contributing funds out of their own pocket to ensure the lives of unwanted Westies are saved. North Atlantic Westie Rescue’s mission will be accomplished when there are no more unwanted Westies in need of good homes. NAWR focuses on Westies and other small dogs older than age 7 or who have medical and/or behavioral conditions that make them difficult to place. NAWR operates one of the only hospice programs for Westies in the United States.

Northern New England Westie Rescue, Inc., is a fully volunteer organization with no person involved profiting from their association with the endeavor. NNEWR is a recognized 501(c)(3) charity so donations to NNEWR are fully tax deductible. In addition, NNEWR is registered with the Attorney General of New Hampshire as a registered charity, and their financial reports are submitted to the state and the Internal Revenue Service every year. NNEWR is primarily, although not exclusively, a puppy mill rescue organization saving dogs from horrific situations in the Midwest and moving them to loving homes in New England.
