NEWS: Westies Take Over Street in NYC

A large herd of Westies marched up 6th Ave in the New York City Tartan Day Parade on Saturday April 11th showing the thousands of humans lining the sidewalks that Westies are the Best Import from Scotland!

Westie Rescue was there to show off Westies who had been adopted and are grateful for the Vet help they received in getting ready for that new life full of adventures with new owners. As one Westie was overheard telling the cheering crowd, "Second Hand Dogs make First Rate Pets!"

All the 13 breeds from Scotland were in the parade lineup grouped as the Celtic Canine Brigade. Westie groups included: NYC Westie Meetup, West Highland White Terrier Club NYC, and MidAtlantic Westie Rescue. The weather was PERFECT as there was even a slight breeze to keep everyone cool as they marched along, tails up right, ears forward, pulling on their leads to be first.

All the humans who attended thought the event was GREAT and the best part was their own Westie, snoozed the whole way home as seeing almost a hundred Westies who looked like a littermate was exciting.
