Report from the Home Front – Cody

Mr Cody reports in on his new life. July 2023

Mr Cody wanted to provide an update on his life after he was adopted way back in Feb 2020. He came into our program after his mom fell ill and could no longer care for herself or him. He traveled from SE Virginia all the way to Annapolis, MD to visit our great vets at Greater Annapolis Veterinary Hospital (www.GAVH.com) for a "Westie Tune Up" (shots, blood tests, neutering, and a general health check). After all that abuse, he was in foster care for a few days as we lined up a new home for his little furry butt.

Cody Reports: "When I came into Westie Rescue, I was lost. My mom was gone and so was my home. It was a very scary time for me.

Uncle Stephen sat me down and helped me write up a plea for help and a new home. I posted my availability to everyone on the Westie Rescue adoption waiting list. Uncle Stephen told me that there is just the right home on that list that would make me family member. I was worried, as I needed a home, one that will give me some training and work with me to make me their best buddy. I posted everything I knew: that I like everyone I meet. I like walks and exploring the outdoors. I promised to suck up and become their best buddy within 2/3 mins of arriving. I like ball playing at night and a good fight with a squeaky toy! Oh, the pictures used in that ad were so bad as my ears were not standing up as I was scared when they took that picture. I am so much cuter in person.

Well, all it took was 24 hours and I had a list of homes to choose one. So, I picked out my new mom and dad based on their home being near water and I LOVE to walk along the banks of the Chesapeake and explore. One quick phone call to my new parents and in a flash they came and picked me up so I was on my way to a great new adventure, A NEW HOME! They even had a new car seat for me, so I could look out when traveling. Man, I do love humans…

My new life is GREAT! In order to give you an idea of what it like, I wanted to post a few pictures to say Thank You to Westie Rescue for my second chance at a great new life. My new life is what every Westie who is homeless dreams about: Loving home, beach walks, car rides, lots of places to explore and sniff, a good schedule between meals and treats, and a soft bed to rest on after a day of adventures."
