Westie Rescue needed your help and you responded - final Q1 fund raising goal reached.

As dog owners can attest, the cost of veterinary care has risen through the roof. Westie Rescue's vet expenses were $101,107 for 2023. That critical vet care was only possible due to your donations.

In 2023, 94.7% of our operating expenses consisted of veterinary fees. Westie Rescue needs to pay off our Vet bills and get ready for the influx of Westies who will need medical care and specialized Vet services in the coming months. Westie Rescue has already helped ten Westies this year find new homes. All received a visit to the Vet for a health checkup, shots, treatments started on existing issues to be ready for a new and loving home.

We started off 2024 in the hole financially as multiple Westies came into the program at the end of 2023 needing a lot of Vet services as they were never cared for during their earlier years. As always Westie Rescue steps up to help each and every Westie get the care they need, the food they need, and the love they need to be ready for those open arms and hearts like yours.

The examples of little ones who needed our help in the past months is long but a few stand out as great cases of what can be accomplished with a little love, training, and lots of Vet care.

Mr Scooby

A loving 6 yr old suffering from skin issues driven by allergies, who needed specialized and experienced Vet care, lots of baths and home care. Recovering quickly as he is following the regiment of weekly baths, a few meds, and lots of power walks!

ADOPTED

Mr Brooks

3 yr old who needed Vet care, behavior adjustments, long term training as he thinks he is in charge, and a strong schedule. Currently in foster care getting his doggie training 101 basics by Aunt Tina, who takes no guff from little guys.

Brooks will need a STRONG willed human to be his mom/dad, one who will follow the training instructions as indicated by "mean" Aunt Tina.

Still looking for a new home.

Mr Sky

2 yr old who came into our program needing extensive surgery to remove a toy part from his tummy. "It looked like food!" After an expensive exploratory surgery he is happy once again and running around the yard of his adopted home. He leaves behind a $5,000 Vet bill that needs your donations to move his bills to paid!
