A long term foster boy said good bye today....

Today we have to say good bye to a long term foster boy "Westley" who is somewhere between 15-16 years. He had a stroke and was unable to walk again but not too far gone to get that one last treat.

Westley has been in the loving care of Lucian Kowalski for the past year, where he could be a grump but enjoy life.

Besides being a grumpy old goat, Westley enjoyed ball playing, yard sniffing and chasing his younger roommates around.

Westley loved women, but only tolerated poor Lucian in spite of him being the food giver, door man, yard walker, ball thrower, nighttime bed partner, and provider of all good treats.

Westley came to the Westie Rescue program when his senior owners passed away leaving one grumpy old guy alone. After a good brushing, a bath and a lot of yard sniffing he decided that Lucian's place was a good spot as there are a lot of Westies running around.

God Speed Westley and enjoy chasing the rodents among the clouds till we meet again at that rainbow bridge.

All of us in Westie Rescue shed a tear as these old ones pass on.

What happens to Westies when they die?
