We salute the efforts of those who help Military K9’s find new homes after serving our country and keeping our troops safe. Good Boys!
The Warrior Dog Foundation transitions our country’s working K9s from an operational environment into retirement. Providing mental and physical rehabilitation, and rehoming options to Military Working Dogs (MWD), Contract Working Dogs (CWD) and Law Enforcement K9s that otherwise would be euthanized.
K9s For Warriors is ending veteran suicide and returning our Warriors to a life of dignity and independence. We rescue and train shelter dogs to be paired as Service Dogs for Warriors with service-connected Post-Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury and/or Military Sexual Trauma.
The United States War Dogs Association, Inc. is a nonprofit organization of Former and Current US Military Dog Handlers and supporting members committed to promoting the long history of the Military Service Dogs, establishing permanent War Dog Memorials, and educating the public about the invaluable service of these canines to our country.
Paws and Stripes provides service dogs for wounded military veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury. This group believes in the value of integrating service dog training and education with mental health support. The dogs involved in Paws and Stripes are all from local animal rescues and shelters. So K9 lives in need are finding rescue too! And, the programs are FREE to the veterans. http://www.pawsandstripes.org/
Westie Rescue gives a Two Paws Up award for all their efforts on behalf of those who serve. Keep those tails up and moving!
